The Environmental Education Center of
Kalamata is an educational institute which exists for the
sensitization, training and activation of students and
teachers as well as the updating of citizens about the
protection of the environment, ecological balance and
sustainable development. |
Our main work is to:
● Sensitize
young people
about environmental issues in order to develop attitudes which
will contribute to the protection of ecological balance and
quality life aiming to a sustainable development.
● Attain
programs of Environmental Education
for the schools of nursery, primary and secondary education.
● Attain
programs of informal out-of school Environmental Education
for young groups.
● Support
programs of Environmental Education of schools
with the collaboration of the Heads of the Environmental
Education in the prefectures of range.
● Produce
primary educational, updating material
(printed, audio-visual and pilot programs-guides for schools).
● Connect
to scientific institutes
on local, national and international level aiming to
scientific updating, research and documentation as well
collaboration for the production of educational programs.
● Organize
and carry out educational seminars
for teachers and also educational programs for adults in
collaboration with other governmental and non -governmental
conveyors. This collaboration is extended wherever it is
considered worthwhile, as long as it contributes to the goals
of E.E.C.
● Promote
research
in the field of Environmental Education.
● Co-ordinate thematic, national and local
school nets.
